About Me

My passion for creativity and the arts stems back to my childhood. As soon as I could load film into a camera, I was encouraged by my parents to photograph the world around me. This was made easy for me growing up surrounded by the natural beauty of the Caribbean. During high school, I learned how to screen print, work in a darkroom, and run an offset press. My instruction also included the traditional, manual way of creating graphic designs as well as the use of Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. In the early 2000’s, I attended the Miami International University of Art & Design. During that time, I enjoyed being a part of the art and music scene in South Florida. I was able to show my work with fellow artists, who were leading the way putting on gallery exhibitions and alternative club nights in Wynwood. The Art Center South Florida was a second home for me, as I ran their darkroom and assisted with print design. My first Art Direction position was with the international perfume retailer, Perfumania, where I orchestrated photo shoots and created point of sales art for over 300 stores. In 2006, I began working with Music Allies, and my career in the music industry began. One week after I started, I was at Bonnaroo helping out with the Backstage Radio and Recording Studios. With Music Allies, I was able to work with numerous artist-run record labels and music festivals: Ani DiFranco’s Righteous Babe Records, Justin Timberlake’s Tennman Records, Jack Johnson’s Brushfire Records, Bonnaroo, Hangout, Outside Lands, Langerado, and Vegoose. In 2009, I was part of the core group, along with Sean O’Connell, Greg Lucas, and Jay Sanders, that created a digital design platform, Creative Allies. I have worked with Hangout Music Festival for many years, wearing a number of hats: official photographer for the festival since 2011, lead graphic designer, Senior Project Manager, and I directed the on-site content creation team in 2019. Looking back over the past 20 years of being able to work as an artist, I feel overwhelmed with gratitude for the opportunities I have had. I never dreamed of being where I am now, when I was watching punk shows at skate parks and screen printing patches in high school. Today, I am settled into a wonderful home in Western North Carolina with my partner Tiffany and our dog Deva. I make jewelry and music, when I’m not actively working on projects, and still love photographing all the beauty around me.
